We did it again – and we are immensely proud: After securing first place in 2018, we can once again call ourselves "Employer of the Year" in the 2025 TOP JOB competition. Find out now what this award really means and why we can confidently say that this title is more than just a fancy certificate on the wall.
What is TOP JOB all about?

TOP JOB is not just a trophy to display on a shelf. This award is backed by a scientifically grounded employee and management survey conducted by zeag AG in close cooperation with the University of St. Gallen. Two-thirds of the evaluation is based on feedback from our colleagues, while the remaining third comes from a so-called "culture audit." In other words, it’s not just about what's written on paper – what truly matters is how our employees actually experience Metecon as an employer.

Why did we win?

To win at TOP JOB, a company must perform exceptionally well in various categories. This year, we scored particularly high in the category "culture & collaboration." According to our employees, Metecon is characterized by:
  • a strong climate of trust,
  • active and appreciative communication across all levels,
  • genuine support and openness among colleagues, and
  • a feedback culture that is not just a buzzword but actively practiced in daily work.

Prof. Dr. Heike Bruch, Scientific Director of TOP JOB and Professor at the University of St. Gallen

"Metecon GmbH impresses with a corporate culture shaped by core values such as responsibility, diversity, and feedback. The top rating in the category 'culture and collaboration' demonstrates how successfully the company has implemented its vision of a trusting and appreciative work environment – as seen from the perspective of its employees."

Having won for the second time, does this mean that we at Metecon are naturally gifted leaders? Not necessarily. Our management team stays informed, exchanges ideas, keeps up to date, and seeks external support when needed. Another key element of our continuous development is our regular participation in TOP JOB. That's why we also took part in 2020 and 2023.

And to be perfectly honest: We didn't perform quite as well then. During that period, we were doubling in size and feeling the growing pains: Internal processes needed urgent adjustments, and it was crucial to ensure that everyone understood their own role as well as others' and knew what Metecon stands for. So, we took a deeper look at our TOP JOB results and followed the recommendations. We refined our processes, developed our corporate values, defined our leadership principles, and much more. One important takeaway from that time: TOP JOB works! Winning this year is the result of everything we learned and implemented from previous participations.

Sigmar Gabriel, the competition's patron, praises the lasting impact of this award:

"Being a top-choice employer is a crucial strategic decision for companies aiming for long-term success. In my view, TOP JOB is the most sustainable employer award on the German market."

What does this mean for our employees?

At Metecon, our focus is on enabling real development. We take the comprehensive feedback report very seriously because it shows us where we are already strong and where there is still potential for growth.

Wiebke Hermanns, HR Manager at Metecon:

"When our colleagues say through the survey that they feel well-supported at Metecon and can communicate openly at any time, that is the most valuable recognition for me. But it also motivates us to keep working on our culture – standing still just isn’t an option!"

The title "Employer of the Year 2025" is an honor because it is based on genuine feedback and proves that we truly live by our values of openness, trust, and cooperation. We celebrate this success while looking forward to using the University of St. Gallen''s analysis and our colleagues' valuable insights to improve even further.

We're staying engaged, listening, and growing – so we can continue shaping the future together successfully.
